Gulbarga :Karnataka State Dalit Sangarsh Samiti leader D G Sagar Narona today alleged that atrocities on Dalits were increasing under BJP rule in the state.
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that the police too were colliding with the Anti-Dalit forces in targeting Dalits.
They declined to book a complaint lodged by a Dalit in a rape and murder case.
Recalling recent incidents a Kerur village in Aland taluk on April 28, he said a 40-years-old dalit woman Mukta Bai Neelkanth was allegedly raped and murdered. Her body was thrown into a well.
Her husband Neelakanth informed the police about the incident, but the police did not visit the spot to investigate the case. The body was allegedly left to rot in the well. On April 29 the police arrived in the village to book a case of accidental death, he said.
On May 3, a Dalit boy Jai Bheem, was cut into pieces and thrown into Bheema river by upper caste people as he was in love with an upper caste girl at Sangapur village in Afzalpur taluk.
The boy's mother Neelamma complained against the girls' father Veerappa and brother Gangappa. But the police failed to take action, he alleged.
In protest against these incidents and seeking justice in above cases, the DSS would stage a demonstration in front of Deputy Commissioner's office on May 16.
