National Academy for Dalit (NAD) is a voluntary organization started by diversified field of young professional in the year 2008. It main objective is to provide the opportunity of quality professional education to the Dalit’s students in discrimination free environment.
Profile: University Fellow
No of Position: one in each state of India (Proposed).
Duration: Two year
Stipend: Every University Fellow will receive Rs 2,000 stipend per Month for two year.
Role and responsibility
The University Fellow will be write 1-2 article every month on different aspect of “Dalit and Education-Primary and Higher”. He may be asked to attain the workshop, seminar organized by NAD or directed by NAD.
Eligibility
1. University Fellow must be from Dalit community.
2. University Fellow Must be Completed or appeared in Bachelor degree from any stream by 2011.
3. University Fellow must take admission in PG/MA/MBA/M.Tech any stream in any Indian university in coming session 2011-12.
4. University Fellow must be below 30 year.
5. University Fellow would be Articulate and ability to write in any Indian language (Preferably Hindi and English)
6. Understanding of Dalit issue is desirable.
Selection Process
Candidates will be screened on the basis of their 1 page write-up i.e max 1000 words in any topic and resume for telephonic interview followed by personal interview.

Why University Fellow?
After two year of NAD experience it is found that there are few Dalit students enroll the middle school and very few student reach to the university/higher education due to various social and economic reasons. Among Dalit those students attain higher education they face various forms of discrimination within institute from faculty, and fellow student. Due to this discrimination these student develop complexity within themselves which loose their confidence.
The complexity down the morality of Dalit Student and remain morality make down by the private companies who come for placement by not considering their candidature in the list of prospect employee for their organisation with the argument “Dalit student are not competitive as general student”It is no doubt tortoise cannot compete with hoarse. But similar socio-economic and discrimination free condition can change this scenario and Dalit students can do better then general students.
Nation needs such Higher education Academy who can provide discrimination free environment to Dalit students where they groom and nurture as high quality professional which wills be equal or more competitive then general students and can get respectable jobs in public as well as private sector without help of reservation. Hence Patron of NAD decided to establish NAD as premier professional education Institute comparable to Indian premier Institutes exclusive for Dalit.
What is university Fellowship?
University fellowship is awarded to young Dalit students who are perusing their post graduation in any stream from recognized Indian university.

Fellow write every month because they do not feel stipend is coming without labour. At the same time this process helps them in nurturing their writing and research skill as well as increase the knowledge base about issues and concern about Dalit which make Dalit leader in India.
