Mangalore, Apr 15 (6-40 am): On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Lok Sabha member from Mangalore, visited the house of Manjapa at Mastikatte in Moodbidri on Thursday, April 14.
He spent about half an hour with the family and accepted lunch with them, squatting on the floor. He had visited the same house three years ago, when he had come asking for votes in the Lok Sabha election. The visit had been described as an election gimmick in the media.
Last year, on the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, Kateel had visited the house belonging to the Nalike community in Koppadakumeru in the same area. He had shared lunch with him during that visit.
He was in Moodbidri to take part in the Ambedkar Jayanti observance organized by the Dalit Sangharsh Samiti. Many other leaders too were with him at the lunch.
